The first U.S. patent for a golf tee, granted in 1899 to George F. Grant - a Boston dentist and one of the first African American faculty members at Harvard. His tapered peg with a flexible head replaced the little piles of wet sand golfers used before. A great story and a clean, simple print for any golfer.
